12 March 2010 - Last evening I received the latest edition of the Young Marine magazine, Esprit. All I can say is we did good. We are mentioned four times in the magazine; a picture of Alex and Aaron Lare at graduation, the article written by YM Private Hernandez (he is now published), we made the Veteran’s Appreciation Week Honor Roll, and our picture of from the Bike Build. It is always a pleasure to see your unit get recognized. My sincere appreciation to all of you for your assistance and support.

20 February 2010 -Brothers,
We have two new Brother Knights in our Council, Brothers Brian Sharlow and Jack Rosner. Both took their 1st Degree today and we look forward to seeing Brian and Jack at our upcoming activities. The Degree Team did another wonderful job and I'd like to thank them for their continued support.

14 Febuary 2010 - We had a wonderful time at our Valentine's Day dinner last night. Chef Sara out did herself, the dinner and dessert were delicious! Brother Paul added the music and Brother Warren with a lot of help from his Valentine Betsey did a great job in setting up the activity center and making sure everything ran perfectly. For those of you who have put activities together like this, when it runs as smoothly as this did those who put it together worked VERY hard. My hats off to Warren and Betsey for a wonderful time.
If you couldn't make it this year, try to make it next year. We had a great time! See Photos.
Respectfully,
Mark Janda
27 January 2010 - We had 63 knights attend the Social. Joesph Argenzio was the guest speaker. Joe was the youngest soldier in the D-Day invasion. I believe we had the largest crowd at a social. Many thanks to Boy Scout troop 165 for providing dinner. See Photos.
23 January 2010 - 34 Knights and their familes take an evening off after a very busy Thanksgiving and Christmas season to enjoy an evening at Riverside Theater. We were glad that Father Korpi could join us as well. From all of the comments after the show everyone had a great time. See photos.
21 November 2009- The Knights of Columbus, the LCpl Caleb Powers Young Marines and the Staff of ATA Tire in Fredericksburg, Virginia took on a joint venture and assembled 100 bicycles to be distributed to children of needy families throughout the Fredericksburg, Virginia area. The Knights of Columbus Council 4034 furnished the bicycles and the LCpl Caleb Powers Young Marines and Staff of ATA Tire assembled them. A portion of those bicycles were also donated to the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program for nation-wide distribution. If it wasn't for the Knights of Columbus Council 4034, this event would not have taken place.
17- 19 November 2009 - We have four new Brother Knights in Fredericksburg Council 4034. On Tuesday November 17th Brother Warren Kimmerly accompanied Jim Lepp and Tony Aldredge to the 1st Degree at Holy Trinity Council. Yesterday Brother Fred Nunez and I attended the 1st Degree at Bishop Keating with Stephen Stoecker and Dan Breen. Please welcome these new Knights when you see them. They all would like to be active with the Council.
I especially want to thank Holy Trinity and Bishop Keating Councils for letting us be part of their Degree. As you know it takes time and effort to have this come together and both Councils did a wonderful job.
Fraternally,

19-20 Sepetember 2009
Brothers,
From what I saw it was a very successful weekend for our Parish. It was great weather and the set up worked out very well. A lot of planning went into this and thanks goes out to the Parish Council for their efforts.
The Knights also had a great weekend. This was like a membership blitz...which we will have next month culminating with a 1st Degree on October 17th. More on that in a separate email. We have 14 prospective Knights to interview and 6 new transfers. I will be asking for help in getting these men interviewed and ready for the 1st Degree.
Thank you to all who helped, especially those who put in more than one Mass. It takes time to make things happen and it doesn't happen alone. I appreciate your support in making things like this, where many Knights are needed, a success. Photos

April 4, 2009 - Words alone can not describe how very proud I am of each and every one of you. I congratulate you once again on having taken the final step and achievement of full Knighthood in the Knights of Columbus, the largest Catholic fraternal family-oriented service organization in the world. My thanks and heart also go out to Brothers Rich LaRoche, Rick Reschick, Warren Kimmerly, Mario Figueroa, Fred Nunez, Paul Scott, Jim Hanson, and Ralph Steiniger who accompanied me to witness this momentous occasion. With each passing moment, I felt I as if I was growing an inch taller in my seat, and I was certain I was the tallest Grand Knight in the audience as you were being knighted a 3rd Degree Knight along with 29 other Brother Knights. Just imagine, you were a part of a class of Knights who affirmed their fealty to our Order and the principles by which we strive to live. You achieved full Knighthood today, and I thank you for your commitment.

Worthy Brothers all, allow me to start with an excerpt from the “These Men They Call Knights” booklet.”
“…They called themselves Knights of Columbus – Knights to emphasize chivalry’s ideals of charity and support for Church and state, and Columbus as a reminder that Catholics had been the backbone and bulwark of America’s growth and greatness from the very beginning.…”
If you have not done so recently, I encourage you to re-read the contents of this booklet to remind you why we are so very proud to call ourselves “Knights of Columbus.” I for one am VERY proud indeed, not just because of the contents of the booklet, but for having witnessed the conferring of the 2nd Degree of our Order upon 18 members, 10 of them from Council 4034 on Saturday, 7 Feb 09. What a most wonderful testimonial to the guiding principles of our Order. If you were not able to be there to witness this momentous event, let me tell you, there was UNITY in the chamber and in the hearts of all present as our candidates stood shoulder-to-shoulder united in a common cause, united for a common purpose, and united at the steps of the altar of our founder, Father Michael J. McGivney.
Please join me in congratulating following Council 4034 new 2nd Degree Brothers:
Father Stephen F. McGraw
James M. Hoffnagle
William R. Hackbarth
Jose R. Ortiz
Steven F. Cronk
Mark P. Gardner
Scott W. Jones
Richard W. Corbitt
Luis J. Rodriguez
Paul Cartoski
Vivat Jesu, worthy Brother Knights of the 2nd Degree. Allow me to congratulate you once again for having made the right decision to take the second step on the road toward full Knighthood. I pray that you may continue your journey at your earliest opportunity to the 3rd and then to the 4th and final degree of our order. Stay active; participate in our programs and charitable works according to your individual situation. I fully understand that you will not be able to be there every time we ask for your help. That is perfectly alright because I know you’ll be there for us whenever you can.
Having witnessed the working of two of the degrees, I encourage you to become a member of one of the Degree Teams. You can start by accepting a part which does not require any or little memorization, and then keep on going. We are trying to grow our team members to have a back-up for every part. Always remember, you never stand alone. There is always a Brother Knight ready to answer your questions and to help you.
Ad Gloriam Dei
Fraternally,
Loui Stevens, GK
